This plate was started on a 3” piece of hand made and painted pottery center, and features a sprig of lavender. This was real lavender that was pressed into the clay. The approximate diameter is 9 1/2” x 1/2”. Both brown and green long leaf pine needles were used along with some dyed darker needles and raffia for contrast. Many of the green needles have faded. The stitches are spiral , wrap, and wheat. There is a hanger on the back.
