This basket was started on a 3” piece of hand made and painted pottery center featuring a doily. A doily was pressed into the clay while it was wet. The basket is approximately 8 3/4”x 10 3/8” handle to handle, and 2 1/2 ” high. Brown long leaf pine needles were used along with some dyed darker needles for contrast. The stitches are wheat, wrap,spiral, and a decorative stitch on the handles. There is a hanger on the back.
